  1. Dear Rochelle,

I stumbled on your site yesterday while I was looking for some guidance and comfort about the loss of our Charlie. Charlie was a 13 year wonderful golden, having just let him go yesterday; I found solace with your words and stories of other golden. I never knew that I could be overwhelmed with such sadness, only to find out I am not alone. As I struggle through the next days and weeks to come not wanting to bear the thought that our Charlie will no longer be part of our lives, I will visit this site and take comfort with the stories that are shared. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place.

  2. Janine, I am so, so sorry for your loss. I know the pain that you must be going through and am still grieving my Darcy, who has been gone two years now. Sadly, it feels like it was yesterday, and sometimes, depending on the relationship, it can take some years to work through a loss and move on.

But, I consider us the lucky ones, for the ability to form such a close bond with these special souls speaks volumes. I actually feel sorry for those people who have never experienced what we have …. even though it seems to be over before we know it.

  3. Rochelle, thank you for your kind words. I took some time and reflected on Charlie’s life with us and thankful that he shared his love with us. I truly understand how lucky we are to have been part of his life. I know that dealing with his loss will take a long time, and dealing with this loss is very new to me but remembering all the love and happiness that surrounded him will give me the strength to get through the very sad and lonely times ahead of me and my family. Again, Rochelle, thank you for your kind words and a wonderful place to visit. Janine
