Golden Rescue Wade needs our help

Golden Retriever Wade

Golden Retriever Wade - 1 1/2 Years Old

The folks at Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas (GRRNT) are very special. I have been pals with some of the directors for some time and am always trying to lend a helping hand when I can, even though I am a bit far away in Maryland. It is probably my Texas boy, Alfie, that provides the connection.

I just provided a donation for Golden Wade. This boy has suffered so very much during his short life. If my donation can help him get his much needed surgery, then I will be thrilled. It is easy to donate. I indicated wanted to donate to the Rocky Fund as that is the fund for these types of medical issues. And, then I wrote in that my donation was specifically for Wade.

Wade, a GRRNT foster dog, has faced severe health challenges in his young life. Despite these challenges, he is a happy and energetic boy. He now faces the painful condition known as hip dysplasia, requiring surgery to alleviate some of his pain. GRRNT, a tax-exempt 501c3 charity, is seeking donations to help Wade live a happy pain-free life he so richly deserves. Help us help Wade!

Learn more about Wade.

Wade is a very lanky, long-legged young dog who was found as a stray by animal control. He came to rescue with severe skin issues, which have been successfully treated. Now Wade is eager to find that perfect family to call his own.

Wade is a boisterous, bouncy boy, excitable and full of energy. Like any young dog he loves to run, run, run, and play with his foster siblings. He does very well with the resident cat, he bounces up to her, says hello, and then bounces away to find a toy to play with. He is a big goofy clown and a genuinely happy dog who makes his foster mom laugh every day.

He has shown himself to be very cooperative and eager to please. He has learned the rules of the house: wait at the door to be invited in, sit for treats, relax on the dog bed when he’s not being petted or played with, potty outside, etc. It appears that before coming to rescue Wade had very little or no training, so it is really has been a delight to see him begin to understand what is asked of him.

Wade truly enjoys being with people and is happiest when someone will play ball with him. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys wrestling and playing with his foster siblings. He will do best in a home with older children since he stands taller than toddler age children and is so full of energy. He is a very busy young man who is always looking for something to do, so he will need a family who is as active as he is.

Wade has lots of potential and is just waiting for a home of his own to share his enthusiasm for life with. If you have an active family and are looking for a canine companion to share those adventures with, Wade is your man, come meet him.
