Darcy Burner, a wonderful woman running for office in Washington State, had her house burn down recently. The saving grace was that her 5-year-old son, Henry, saved the day and alerted the family to the fire, having been awakened by a smoke detector. And, thankfully, their 7-month-old Golden puppy, Bruce Wayne (how they decided on this Batman name is probably a very interesting story), was saved by a fireman on the scene.
Unfortunately, kitty Charlotte was lost to the fire and this was Darcy’s message:
For those who would like to do something to express their support, let me suggest making a contribution to your local humane society or animal shelter in memory of Charlotte, or to the Washington State Council of Firefighters Benevolent Fund.
